This is an interdisciplinary work exploring intersectional feminism and cultural Black dances from the African and African American diaspora. Willie Stark wants to take this opportunity to align body movements in performance and contemporary installation as 2 visual formats for these topics. This work deals with multiple injustices and systemic violence in women’s lives and how wearing a mask, metaphorically, is sometimes important to survive the complexities of power dynamics in nowadays society. Masks will be relevant in this work. Meaning, they’re used to portray the social context.
